Trip to the East Part I

So, waaaaay back in April, I traveled to some places in the Eastern United States. I was given the opportunity to go on a tour with a local elementary school. I didn't have to be a chaperon, they simply needed spots filled to get the group discount. I jumped at the chance to participate, as did my neighbor Judie. We came to know one another as "traveling buddies".

Our first stop was New York City. What an amazing time we had. The first thing we did was go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I really enjoyed both. I would love to be more organized and go back to Ellis Island someday to research my family's immigration history. So interesting!

The following day, we had a lot of free time. Judie and I left the group and did our own little walking tour of the city. We went to the Plaza, up to the top of Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Trump Bar and lots of other places in between
.

That night, we were to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. I, however, got sick. I think it was from dinner.....kind of a bummer to have missed that, but I thought it better to rest and not be out of sorts the entire rest of the trip! Judie said it was an amazing show though!

And that concluded our time in New York!!! Ha! Even though it was only two days, I feel like I still saw a lot. I would love to travel back there someday...hopefully Matt and I will get the chance to do so : )
