Play That Funky Music....

....because I am in the mother of all funks!!! Obviously, as my blog is about as exciting as watching paint dry lately. Honestly....there's just not a lot going on that I feel is blog worthy. And I think it's because I want to be entertaining and funny. But that's not the case lately. However, I still want to remember what was going on at this time years down the road, so here goes nothing....

Last Thursday I finished my school semester. I got B's in both classes. I was a little disappointed, but Matt reminded me that B's in microbiology and physiology while working 32 hours per week is stellar. That made me feel better. He also said,"Do you know what B stands for??.......Better than a C!!!". So, happy that the semester is over and happy with my two B's. Yay me.

I'm so effing excited for this weekend because a.) I am going to see Sex and the City 2 b.) I'm getting a pedi with my Mom c.) boating d.) it's a three day weekend and e.) Monday will mark two years of marriage!! Time really does fly when you're having fun!

I'm also looking forward to a trip to see my friends Bonnie, Jerod and their little boy Jackson. Other trips this summer include house-boating for 5 days (yesssssss!), a camping trip that only Matt and myself are invited to go on : ) and a trip to Tahoe with the Allens

To be completed SOON: pictures from my NYC/D.C. trip and an update on my 30 by 30!!

For those of you that still occasionally glance at this pathetic excuse for a blog, thank you.

And in an attempt to make this post a little less boring, here's a picture of me and my Microbiology girls with our professor.....

Eight years...

Eight years ago, I was a junior in high school and had just turned 17...

Eights years ago, I was dreaming of college...

Eight years ago, I went to football games every Friday night...

Eight years ago, I was all consumed with typical teenage girl things...

Eights years ago, I learned all too soon that those things really don't matter...

Eight years ago, my life was changed forever...

Eight years ago, I lost my Dad...

And I still miss him as much today as I did then. That, I am convinced, will never ever change. The lump in my throat is no different today than it was on May 10, 2002, but my heart is different. My heart is glad to have had my Dad for as long as I did. I'm happy that he was so wonderful and that I had the pleasure of calling him Dad. Even if it was only for 17 short years. And I'm happy that I can finally accept that he would want for me to be happy and to live life.  So, here's to ya Dad...I'll be having a scotch for you (and for me!) tonight : )

The Name Game!

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

This week, Kelly is hosting the topic of baby names. I have no babies (yet), but I do LOVE names. I was always that little girl, telling my mom what I was going to name my future children. Of course, those names have changed over the past twenty years, but I have 2 boy names and 2 girl names that are steadys on my list. Here they are:

BOY

Blake William

Bryce Matthew

William is after my dad and Matthew is my husbands name. I just like Blake and Bryce. It's important to me that middle names be "after" someone in the family.

GIRL

Addison Kay

Brynn Patricia

Kay is not only my middle name but my mother's as well. Patricia was my maternal grandmother's middle name. I would like to use Maxine (her first name), but my Mom says not to because Grandma HATED her name!!! Ha!

I can't wait to read eveyone else's names. LOVE this stuff : ) Happy Friday everyone!!!
