Meet and Greet!

Over at this cool blog, there is a meet and greet being hosted. Head over to join in the fun!

Hi! I'm Lindsey...

I started this blog back in October of 2007. Matt (my now husband) and I had just gotten engaged, and I thought writing on a blog would be a good way to record all of the wedding journey to look back on someday. It's become much more to me than that. One of the first blogs I stumbled across was Kelly's Korner, and things kind of snowballed from there. Blogging is a total outlet for me. I also enjoy meeting new people!!

My favorite posts are as follows:

A memoir of what it was like when we first brough our black lab home

My 30 by 30 list

A tale of our rude neighbor

A post about fashion

The Nike Women's Half Marathon

Here are some of the more popular posts on my blog are the ones that I link up to:

What I'm Loving Wednesday is a weekly favorite for me

And Photo Inspiration Fridays are fun too

These are some posts that will tell you a little more about me:

A review of the year 2008 and the goings on within

Some things that I was (and still am) thankful for

A post written on the eigth anniversary of losing my father

A fun alphabet questionnaire about our wedding

Thanks so much for stopping by! I can't wait to check out everyone else's blogs on the hop : )

Wednesday Love

Go to Jamie's blog so you can link up with what you're loving!

This week I'm loving...

...this new blog website that a fellow blogger turned me on to with recipes for the crock pot.

...that I've got stuffed bell peppers cooking in the crock pot as we speak. Which means that I don't have to cook dinner tonight!

...these sandals that I ordered from Victoria's Secret yesterday (I got the bronze color).

...that tonight, I will be spending 1.5 hours getting a massage.

...my wonderful, amazing, handsome husband!

Weekend Recap

So sorry to post again without any pictures...we're a little displaced at the moment and that doesn't allow for much uploading!

Friday:
  • Watched Baby Laine in the afternoon like normal and then came home to some heavy demolition going on. Matt had taken down the wall that separates the living room and guest bedroom.
  • Went to a BBQ at Ryan and Diana's. They just re-did their backyard and it looks A-mazing!
Saturday:
  • More house demolition. Took out the ceiling of the office and finished packing little things.
  • I had a Mary Kay party that afternoon. When I finished up with that we continued working on the house until about 6.
  • We had an early evening complete with frozen pizza for dinner and some recorded shows.
Sunday:
  • Took a few pieces of furniture to storage and moved our bedroom to the neighbors.
  • Completely ripped our home apart. What used to be a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home now consists of a kitchen, laundry room, and big huge open room with cement flooring, holes where there used to be plumbing, and that's about all. Even the studs that used to separate the rooms are gone. Pictures to come SOON!!
  • Settled into our new home. The Allen's are so generous to offer their guest room to us while we complete this project.
And that's all folks! I have a feeling not a whole lot will be happening these next few months, with the exception of house stuff! Just know that once this project is done, I'll have more to write about than demolition, plumbing, wiring, and decor choices : )

Five Question Friday

Join in the fun by visiting this awesome blog! Happy Friday : )

1. If you had to choose, how would you prefer to choose to spend money...on landscaping or a pool?

Can I spend money paying someone to put the pool in, and then do the landscaping myself? If I can, then that's my answer. If I have to have a pool with an ugly yard around it.....I'd probably still take the pool!

2. (Scott likes to get things stirred up...) Death penalty, yay or nay?
Stirring things up indeed. This has always been a toughie for me. I personally don't feel that taking the life of another is okay. However, some of the horrid things that criminals do in order to be sentenced to the death penalty make me think twice. So, since this isn't really an answer at all, I guess I'll pass???

3. What's the worst thing your kid has gotten into when you turned your back/blogged/showered/blinked?
I don't have kids. However, there is a hysterical story about my brother when he was 2. Apparently, my mother was washing dishes and he kept running into the kitchen saying, "Ca ca water". My mom thought he meant the dirty dish water and confirmed his statement. She offered him "good water" and he refused. This same scenario played out for the next 15 minutes or so. Finally, my Mom follows him down the hall to discover he's somehow climbed onto the counter of the wet bar, and discovered tequila. Ca ca water indeed. She did say he took a great nap that day!

4. How often do you REALLY go to the dentist?
No less than twice a year. I get the cleanings done 2 times per year, and if a cavity is discovered then I go back to get it filled.

5. What is your favorite animal (doesn't have to be a pet-type animal)?
Dolphins. Always loved them, got to swim with a couple on my honeymoon. It was fun.

Photo Inspiration Friday

I'm linking up with Jenn for Photo Inspiration Friday and you should too : )

This week, I'm inspired by baby shower pictures. But not just any old baby shower, sports themed! I'm throwing a baby shower for my friend Tandy in July, and she is a diehard sports fan. This theme seemed most appropriate for her shower, so I'm taking it and running with it!

A Bullet Kind of Day

  • It's June 2nd. Yesterday, we experienced rainstorms, thunder and lightening, and even some tornado warnings. This is not the California summer that I'm used to. I'm wishing for much warmer weather SOON! Ready to wear sandals and shorts and tank tops!
  • We are this.close to having the permit from the city for our house. Matt and I are both ready to be 100% blazing with this. The sooner we dig in, the sooner it will be finished. Matt described waiting on this permit perfectly when he said, "I feel like a racehorse that's been tied to a fence.".
  • I went and saw Bridesmaids with Shara the other day and really liked it. It's definitely a good flick to go and see with a girlfriend!
  • I don't recall if I've already mentioned this, but I was selected in the lottery to run the Nike Women's Half Marathon in October. I'm running here and there currently, but official training begins in August.
  • That's really all, so thanks for reading : )
