Have you ever heard of this? I hadn't. Here's a picture:
I love me some seafood. And I also love me some Paula Deen. So, when I saw Queen Deen make this I figured I should try it. I differed from her recipe a little, but I think either her way OR my way would be tasty!!!!
Paula's way in black and mine in blue:
Ingredients:
Crab boil, 2 teaspoons per quart of water A HUGE pot of water seasoned with lemon pepper and "seafood seasoning" (I found it at my local grocer)
12 red new potatoes (I used 5 potatoes and it was plenty for two people)
6 (4-inch) smoked sausage link sausage (3 bratwursts)
6 ears corn (2 ears of corn halved)
3 pounds fresh shrimp, unpeeled (I used about 1/2 a pound - again, it was just Matt and I!)
1 pound of crab meat of your choice - I used snow crab because it was on sale - you don't have to add crab, but you can if you want some extra yummyness.
Directions:
Fill a large pot with enough water to cover all of the ingredients. Add the crab boil (seasonings) and bring to a boil. Adjust the crab boil (seasonings) to suit your taste. When the water boils, add the potatoes and sausage. Cook on medium heat for 20 minutes. Add corn and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Add the crab and cook for 5 minutes. Add shrimp and cook for no more than 3 minutes. Drain and serve.
This was soooo good and pretty easy to make. Plus, it was something that is a "treat" for us. We ate this on our anniversary because we didn't want to go out and I think we might make it a tradition!!
